A great Mercenary Leader dominates the scene during the first years of the fifteenth-century, in Central Italy . He is Braccio Fortebraccio da Montone. Legendary for his strategic ability, "loved by his troops, feared by his enemies, faithfully obeyed by his subjects… he knew and predicted all the movements of his enemies… it seemed that he was able to see everything without being seen”.
Brave captain, highly skilled in the art of war, clever, audacious, impetuous, ambitious, Braccio da Montone has also remarkable quality as a good governor. A big Signory, Perugia, the beginning of a strong dream of a unitary State “Regnum Italicum”. Braccio Fortebraccio, an extraordinary character to whom Macchiavelli probably thought when he wrote the profile of Prince.
The documentary goes over the life of the Lord of Perugia, his complex personality, his deeds, the many battles and the victories until the only and last defeat that put and end to his ambitions and life.
